Sumitomo Electric manufactures heat-shrinkable products worldwide to a diverse range of customers in industries, including automotive, aerospace, military, appliance, communications, electronics, medical, and transit. We offer the highest level of quality heat shrink products in single, medium, and dual walls, with 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1 shrink ratios, in the broadest range of colors and various temperature applications. Our three main product categories include: • SUMITUBE Heat Shrinkable Tubing that shrinks in the radial direction when heated, taking advantage of shape-memory effect of plastics enhanced by electron beam irradiation. Made mainly from raw materials such as polyolefin, fluorinated polymer, or thermoplastic elastomer, SUMITUBE is widely used in various industrial fields for bundling, thermal protection, and insulation protection of electrical wires and harnesses, as well as for other purposes. • Sumimark and Sumitag Identification Products offering a wide range of high-performance cable identification products developed specifically for the cable assembly identification industry. From our industry-recognized Sumimark Marking System to high-performance heat shrink sleeves and non-shrink products like panel labels and cable labels, Sumitomo excels in cable identification. The world-class Sumilabel identification software provides maximum flexibility for a broad range of cable identification requirements. • STS Solder Termination Sleeves that provide the most reliable means of terminating a wide variety of coaxial cable types as well as applications for wire-to-wire or wire-to-pin style connections and even on triaxial cable assemblies. These termination sleeves solder, seal, insulate, and strain relieve critical connections in one simple step. STS devices are available for low and high-temperature cables and come in a range of sizes, with or without preinstalled lead wires or braid conductors. Lead wires are available in many choices of color, AWG sizes, and types. Sumitomo’s STS sleeves are built to stringent standards, including SAE-AS83519 and NAS 1744, 1745, & 1746 and have an internal precision-engineered, pre-fluxed solder preform, ensuring every connection receives identical amounts of solder and flux, offering a highly repeatable process.
