M81044/6 is a normal weight lead wire with an extruded, cross-linked polyalkene insulation and an extruded, cross-linked polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) jacket. Larger sizes (2-1/0 AWG) have a fiber braid outer covering. Braid colors are limited to solid brown, solid red and solid white. This wire is used in high density cable and harnessing applications because of its size and weight advantages. It also has excellent resistance to cut-through, abrasion, cold flow, shrink back, notch propagation, and common chemicals. These wires also strip easily, may be potted, and have low smoke characteristics.
