NAVAIR Issues Stop-Shipment of TE Material

| Todd Edwards

On March 31, 2022, TE Connectivity issued statements indicating a reversal of the conditional Stop Shipment release that was communicated on February 28, 2022.  All previously affected items related to TE non-conformance revert back to an active Stop Shipment status.

The original documents are available for your review below, which detail the specific issues and part numbers impacted.

Due to this change in status, WireMasters will resume processes implemented in September 2021 related to this material:

  • You may have the option to waive the requirement for certified Mil-Spec material. To facilitate such a waiver, please complete and return the document(s) below to WireMasters:
  • WireMasters Waiver
  • Required for any and all waiver requests.
  • Request for Variance – DD form 1694
  • In addition, DD form 1694 is also required for government/defense applications.
  • Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is the governing authority in this matter.  They will dictate the process and timeline.
  • WireMasters is working with alternative manufacturers to fulfill current open orders, as material availability will allow.
  • TE’s stop shipment status will contribute to extended industry lead times and price fluctuations due to the limited amount of qualified manufacturers for many of these items. We encourage you to review any upcoming requirements and contact your WireMasters Account Executive regarding potential alternatives and solutions.
